Syllabus

Introduction, immune system and human diseases. Immunology laboratory diagnostics, indication and interpretation of laboratory tests.

Immunodeficiency primary and secondary Autoimmune diseases organ nonspecific ? rheumatic diseases, immunocomplex diseases, vasculitis. Autoimmune diseases organ specific ? endocrine, renal, GI, neuromuscular and reproductive diseases Allergy diseases and anaphylaxisImmunology of transplantation.

Tumor immunologyImmunohematology and lymphoproliferation. Basic principles of immunotherapy Seminar paper:Short review from the literature of about 4-5 pages, appropriate structure, formal aspects and references (please start with the textbook, than Medline search and fulltexts from the school).  Example of reference from peer-rewied journal:.   Dlouhý P, Kučera P, Kraml P, Pompachová A, Potočková J, Šmejkalová V, Mokrejš P, Jaček M, Anděl M..

Short-Term Dietary Intake of C18:1 Trans Fatty Acids Decrease the Function of Cellular Immunity in Healthy Young Men, Ann Nutrition Metab, 2008, 53, 129-136.) The paper can be written in pairs.Topics are selected from the recommended areas. In special cases the student can discuss different topic with the head of the course on the course beginning.

The paper has to deal with immunology aspect of phenomenon, disease, diagnostics test or therapy. The seminar paper due is the last day of the Course

Annotation

Problem oriented course, as a part of Module Basic Clinical Problems. Basis of pathologic anatomy, physiology and pharmacology related to immunopathology disorders are taught. Clinical Cases are used during seminars.

Basic, typical clinical symptoms, typical laboratory findings and immunotherapeutic approaches are discussed.
