Introduction to nutrition economy studies; cohesion biological and economical parameters in human nutrition

Nutrition recommendations; basic principles of RDA, recommended food allowances, food-based nutritional recommendations, nutrition pyramide, health eaten index etc.

Food consumption; methodical principles, statistical dates, family budget dates

Food content databases; principles of creation, evaluation of dates, examples of exploitation

Food quality as a economical category; various aspects of food quality

Common principles of nutrition and food policy (NFP), status of NFP in the Czech Republic

Food legislative principles and barriers

Particular sorts of foodstuffs (organic, function, with GMO)

International organizations dealing with food and nutrition (FAO, WHO, WTO, CA)

Annotation

The course is taught in the bachelor study programme ?Honours in Health Care? - Specialization ?Public Health Care?, in the 2nd year-class. The course is engaged with linking of biological and economical aspects as a intersectorial problem.

Education is targeted on the introductory economical food processing parameters, various nutrition recommendations, foodstuff quality, food legislative, food consumption, food composition data.bases as a tool for the nutrition evaluation. Further the course gives infomation about nutrition and food policy, organic foods, functional foods, the GMO containing products and information about the intenational organizations acting in the human nutrition and food sector.
