Syllabus

Factors influencing the health status at work: Factors physical, chemical and biological - noise, vibrations, ionizing radiation, overloading, dust, chemicals and infections. Occupational diseases, professional accidents (accidents at work), principles of health care for employees, health risks at workplace, travel medicine, personal protection.

Case studies of interesting cases from occupational health practice. Excursion to the chosen factory.

Annotation

It is a part of preventive medicine module. The course will inform students about noise, vibration, overloading of locomotory system, dust, ionizing radiation and some chemicals and about their influence on health.

Some part of the course will be dedicated to the problems of the travel medicine and assessment of suitability for work from the point of view of health status. The student will be informed about health risks at workplaces and they will visit some factory.
