Syllabus

First contact medicine is based on a thorough patient history and physical examination in an environment with limited instrumental, material and personnel resources. It includes both the emergency medical services and activities in, for example, GP clinics. The topic of course is:

• physical examination using the structured ABCDE approach;

• differential diagnosis of acute conditions (chest pain, shortness of breath, back pain, etc.);

• treatment of the first contact - treatment of life-threatening conditions according to internationall guidelines;

• basic and advanced life support;

• structured information handover during transfer to follow-up care.

The course will mainly include microsimulations and workshops.
