Syllabus

Introduction - presentation of the objectives and purpose of the course, the conditions for granting credit.

Each lecture will be devoted to interpreting selected philosophical texts from ancient beginnings, through the turn of antiquity and the middle ages, middle ages, modern times, to key philosophical texts of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Conclusion - summary of the main interpretation methods and their advantages and disadvantages.

Annotation

The online lectures will be focused on the interpretation of selected philosophical texts from the ancient origins, through the turn of antiquity and the Middle Ages, the Middle Ages, the modern period, to the key philosophical texts of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Students will become familiar not only with the selected texts but also with the various interpretive methods and where the various interpretations come from, their assumptions. Thus, the goal of the course will be not only to become familiar with key philosophical texts but also to understand how different views and cultural assumptions affect our ability to understand and interpret the core of what is said or written.
