Chemical calculations I: substance amount, molar mass, mass concentration, molar concentration, preparation of solutions, dilution. Osmolarity.
Chemical calculations II: percent concentration, density of solutions, conversion of concentrations.
Acid-base reactions, calculation of pH.
Buffers. Calculations - exercises.
Oxidation, reduction, electrochemical potential.
Structure of organic compounds (aliphatic, aromatic, heterocyclic hydrocarbons). Isomers.
Nomenclature of hydrocarbon derivatives, important common names.
Important reactions of organic compounds.
Structure of nucleotides and nucleic acids.
Structure and properties of amino acids and proteins.
Structure and properties of saccharides.
Structure and properties of lipids.
