Medical psychology, the applied psychological discipline covering doctor - patient relation and communication, psychic responses to illness, psychosomatic relations in health and deseases, basic psychotherapeutic instruments, psychological management of medical environments, psychic characteristics of different groups of patients, psychology of medical profession and doctor´s personality. Psychology in various medical disciplines.

Ethics and medical ethics, bioethics. History of medical ethics. Law and ethics. Moral versus legal. Ethical theories. Ethical principles: beneficence, nonmaleficence, autonomy, justice, neutrality and abstinence. Justice. Resource allocation. Confidentiality and fidelity.

Informed consent. Futility. Obligation to treat. Stopping the treatment. Do not resuscitate orders. Quality of life. Euthanasia and the concept of good death. Telling bad news. Difficult patients. Discussions in small group. Basic ethical concepts.

Ethical principles, the patient as a an object and partner, problems of the origin of life and the end of life, a physician as a citizen. Psychology of the patient, psychology of the disease, the doctor-patient relatinship, communication, psychotherapy
