Subject: Medical Terminology II Czech – General Medicine  (2nd year)

Syllabus:  

October:

Human Body (Parts of the Human Body, Internal Organs). Revision: declension and conjugation – present, past, future.

November:

Departments and Clinics; Medical Specialists and Medical Staff; Diseases.

Nouns – plurals; prepositions (revision).

December: 

Case History; Personal History; Family History.

Vocative case (addressing people).

January:     

Work and Social Histories.

February: 

Diseases; Symptoms of the Disease.

Adjectives – comparative, superlative.

March:

Complaints. Aches and Pains.

Giving advice („měl(a) byste“). Modal verbs.

April:

Instructions (doctor – patient; nurse – patient; doctor – nurse).

Examination of the Patient.

Imperatives.

May:

Pharmacy.

Grammar revision; making questions; questionnaire.        

Annotation

Student will deepen their knowledge about Human Body (parts of the Human Body, internal organs). They will become familiar with common diseases.

They will learn how to: take patient's history; ask about patient's complaints and pain; give advice; give instructions. They will practise the basic examination of the patient role - play.
