Syllabus

- The legal system in the Czech Republic in relation to health care, legal liability of doctors, patients' rights, legal foundations of the public health care system, public insurance system.

- Medical documentation, types of medical documentation, obligations in keeping medical documentation, electronic medical documentation, sharing of medical documentation, access to medical documentation, obligations in processing personal data, obligations in contact with close persons.

- Treatment lege artis and its principles, handling of emergencies, informed consent, positive and negative reversal, notification obligations, experts and expert opinions.

- Labour relations in health care, Labour Code and its application in health care, legal issues of independent medical practice, doctor as an employee, doctor as an employer.

- Legal issues in relation to the determination of the death of an individual, legal issues of organ transplantation, organ donation, voluntary organ donation

- Legal issues in forensic medicine, basic concepts, basic legislation in relation to forensic medicine, forensic and medical autopsies, ordering forensic and medical autopsies.

- Death. Legal regime in relation to the dead body. Procedure for death. Autopsies. Early post-mortem changes. Late post-mortem changes. Atypical forms of cadaveric decomposition. Exhumation.

- The abused, abused and neglected child syndrome. Shaken baby syndrome. Murder of a newborn child by the mother. Sudden death at a young age.

- Forensic traumatolgy.

- Forensic toxicology.

- Clinician in relation to the Police. Examination of a living person at the request of the Police. Medical reports to the Police. The offence of Failure to render assistance. Assessment of the severity of injuries for law enforcement agencies.
