Annotation
Within this elective course, students will have the opportunity to get know specific differences in approach, investigation and comprehensive care for older age groups of patients. They will become familiar with multidisciplinary diagnostics and care, with specific geriatric syndromes, pharmacological strategies, and diseases that are not common in the middle and younger age population. They will also learn about the basics of palliative care and the structure and the possibilities of social care.
Teaching will be in the form of practical exercises at the bedside department with analyzes of the individual casuistics..
The sense of this optional subject is to give students an insight into the field that, due to the global demographic situation, is becoming important and its development is to be expected in the future.
