Lectures
The lectures will take place face-to-face in MS Teams in the form of "live" streaming, or an academic staff member will prepare a PowerPoint presentation with inserted audio/video comments. Video of the lecture will then be uploaded to our Moodle webpage. The presenting teacher will be available online to answer questions during class time or will be available to students for consultations or questions about the lecture in another adequate way. The method of presentation will be up to the individual lecturer. The students will be informed about this in advance. The recorded lectures will be permanently available on the corresponding Moodle webpage.

Annotation
The teaching of Pharmacology I is focused on general pharmacology and selected special pharmacology chapters with specific importance for dentistry practice. Students obtain basic information on drugs pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics as well as pharmacotherapeutic complications such as adverse/toxic effects and drug interactions. From the special pharmacology topics, the students will be educated about pharmacology of analgesics, local and systemic anesthetics and antibiotics. Besides aspects important generally for medicine, the emphasize will be exercised on aspects important for dental medicine. Practical teaching will be oriented on detailed discussion and analysis of the theoretical knowledge and its importance for medicine and dentistry.
Entry requirements: prerequisites: {Povinné předměty ZUBNI 1. ročník (2019->)}, FZP019 (Fyziologie II).
Outcomes (subject Pharmacology I): 1. the student acquires theoretical knowledge of the general pharmacology essential for understanding the general principles important for drug action and their employment in clinical practice. 2. the student will acquire practical skills in selected chapters of the special pharmacology with direct relevance to the dentistry practice (management of the pain and bacterial infections) 3. the student will be able to identify basic analgesic, anesthetic, and antibiotic drugs and describe its properties.
