                              Diagnostic process, topical diagnosis. Syndromology of the cranial nerves I-XII. Headache and facial pain. (Herzig 3)

                              Syndromology of the brain stem, cerebellar and extrapyramidal disorders. (Herzig 3)

                              Nerve root, plexus and peripheral nerve lesions. Motor neuron disease, polyneuropathy, myasthenia gravis, muscle disease. (Vališ 3)

                              Cerebrovascular diseases. Multiple sclerosis. (Herzig 3)

Attendance record. Credit requirements. Introduction to practical classes: textbook(s), overall content of practical classes, tools for neurologic examination, neurological process. Cranial nerves I.-XII: anatomy, physiology, methods of examination, patholögy. Presentation of patients. Cranial nerves I - XII: anatomy, physiology, methods of examination, pathology. Presentation of patients.

Neck, upper limbs, abdomen, vertebral column, lower limbs, posture, gait: methods of examination, demonstration of patients. Cerebellum, sensation. Meningeal irritation. Demonstration of patients.

Overall review of medical record, demonstration, independent physical examination.

Main laboratory methods in neurology: X-ray studies, angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, electroencephalography, electromyography, lumbal puncture, cerebrospinal fluid.

Independent filling out of medical record (history, physical examination), analysis of medical record. Credit.

Lectures: Principles and updates in subspecialties of internal medicine. Seminars/microlectures: Instrumental methods, approach to clinical problems, and case studies.

Practicals: Training in history taking and physical examination, discussions over clinical cases, demonstration of investigatory and treatment techniques. Microlectures and practicals are focused mainly on the lectured subspecialties of internal medicine.
