Practicals: 

Students will complete 14 practical exercises focusing on the following topics:   

Digestive endoscopy (1 practical) 

Students will visit a digestive endoscopy unit to learn about the range of procedures performed there and their indications. The practicum will include working with a digestive endoscopy simulator.   

Gastroenterology (3 practicals) 

During practicums in standard wards of the 2nd Department of Internal Medicine – Gastroenterology, students will learn about the most common diseases of the digestive tract by presenting individual cases.

The main topic of the subject Internal Medicine II course is gastroenterology. Seminars and practicals will focus on gastroenterology, geriatrics, critical care, electrophysiology, invasive cardiology and general internal medicine. Entry requirements: Internal Medicine I Outcomes (knowledge and clinical skills):

1) Knowledge of the basics of gastroenterology.

2) Understanding of the principles of digestive endoscopy, electrophysiology and invasive cardiology.

3) Knowledge of the principles of the intensive care.

4) Knowledge of basic characteristics and specifics of the field of geriatrics.

5) Practicing clinical examination of the patient, differential diagnosis and choice of therapeutic procedures.
