Lectures:
Epidemiology of the most frequent diseases, special health problems in some particular geographic regions.
Methodological access to recognition of the polycausal etiology of diseases - description of interactions between a genetical predisposition and living conditions (environment).
Seminars: 1.–5. Study hour on the selected topics using Internet sources. Preparation of PowerPoint presentations. 6.–8. Seminar with student’s papers presentation and moderated discussion (recommendation of needed knowledge for the particular health care).
Annotation
Current health problems in student’s home-countries: This elective subject tries to motivate students to critical evaluation of the most frequent health problems in their home-countries as well as in problems with organization of health-care. It should help them to orient better in the most needed medical specializations for their countries and to focus better just to the most important medical tasks (besides the basic requirements in either General Medicine or Dentistry study programs).
Students present problems which are discussed on the basis of available information via Internet.
