General toxicology
Toxicokinetics
General principles of poisoning therapy, antidotes
Special toxicology:
Toxicology of the cardiovascular system
Toxicology of the respiratory system
Toxicology of kidneys
Hepatotoxicity
Central stimulants and hallucinogens
Pharmaco-toxicology of ethanol
Toxicology for pharmacists addresses toxic effects of exogenous substances, especially medicines, on the living organism. First, the general principles will be explained (basic concepts, toxicokinetics, general principles of poisoning therapy, the most important antidotes, etc.).
The special toxicology will focus on drug-induced organ toxicity (cardiovascular, respiratory, hepatotoxicity, etc.), and also on the toxicity of the most common addictive substances including ethanol.
