Annotation

participants of this course are asked to repeat basic knowledge of ethiopathogenesis, symptomatology and diagnostics, risks of lectured diseases and symptoms and to repeat pharmacological knowledge of drugs related to particular nosologic unit. Part of these topics is shortly reminded during the lectures; however, certain knowledge background is essential for the understanding of discussed topics. Lectures are focused mainly on definition of aim and strategy of treatment, and how long these interventions should be applied. EBM is discussed as well. Summary at the end of lecture is a source of concept of pharmaceutical care in this particular disease. Part of each lecture is discussion on one or more short cases. Within some lectures there is used a technical voting system. Seminars deeply discuss topics of selected nosologic units in smaller groups.

Subject is finished by credit (1 absence is allowed if it is compensated + discussion with teacher) and exam (complete written case is required one month before the exam period and it has to be authorized by the teacher). For exam it is necessary during teaching hours to study following non-lectured nosologic units and symptoms (endogene depression, diarrhea, constipation).

Exam consists of three parts: ad1/ knowledge about diseases or symptoms in the structure similar to the lectured ones ad 2/ there are required basic indications and contraindications (it is welcome if students use their knowledge of drug effect and disease pathology) by chosen group of drugs ad 3/detailed discussion on the students´ cases which have to be delivered to the teacher one month before start of the exam period.
