Molecular biology deals with the study of the cellular processes on molecular level. Genetics is concerned with the study of genes, genetic variation, and heredity in organisms and populations. The main focus of this subject is description of heredity-related biological macromolecules (DNA, RNA, proteins), their mutual interactions and regulation of their function.
Furthermore, the subject scope is extended towards explanation of the most important experimental molecular techniques, basics of clinical genetics and molecular diagnostics, as well as application of genetic engineering (recombinant DNA technology).
