Annotation

The course extends the knowledge of physical properties of organic compounds and spectral methods. It is focused on intermolecular attractive forces, physical properties related to interactions between molecules of the same structure and physical properties influencing the interactions between molecules of different structures.

Another objective of the course is to broaden the knowledge of the students in the methods of structure elucidation based on the absorption of electromagnetic waves (absorption in UV area, visible light area, IR and radiowaves). Particular attention is paid to advanced 1D experiments (APT, DEPT), and both homocorrelated and heterocorrelated (COSY, NOESY) and heterocorelated (HSQC, HMBC) 2D experiments, and their practical applications to structure elucidation of unknown substances.
