Flow methods in the analysis of biologically active substances

Class at Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové |
GDBM08

Annotation

The subject will be focused on overview and application of automated analytical methods based on flow principles. Students will be interested in the following methods: Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) - principle of flow dispersion, dispersion definition, stop-flow measurement, FIA system components, devices, lab-on-valve module, additional processes in flow systems; sequential injection analysis (SIA) - principle, flow programming, mixing with overlap of sample zones and reagents; application of flow methods, use in research; sequential injection chromatography (SIC) - principle, monolithic columns, practical applications; possibilities and trends in the use of flow methods.

Applications of "Lab on Valve" and "Lab in Syringe" in micro extraction techniques for liquid and solid phase extraction and the incorporation of modern extraction sorbents and nanomaterials for preconcentration before trace analysis will be presented. Emphasis will be placed on the application of these methods in the analysis of biologically active substances and in the analysis of biological material and environmental samples including the possibility of adjusting the sample before its own analysis.
