Czech Pharmaceutical Museum in Kuks has a great number of exhibitions. During their educational visit students are given a detailed commentary in each of them. Historical collection contains for example: drugs and specific products of pharmaceutical industry, special pharmaceutical vessels and painted bottles, containers, tools for compounding and laboratory devices. You can see there historical and old-fashined furniture. One part of Museum is full of historical photos, posters, advertising pictures, graduation diplomas, various statues, paintings and reliefs, and almost one thousand of Ex Libris of the Czech and Slovak pharmacists. Pharmaceutical Historical Library is the biggest one in the Czech Republic, it contains 14 306 evidenced pieces of books and journals.
Museum has also a big archive which is utilized together with the Library in museology, research and historical science. Although some of its exhibitions are open to public Museum takes its special part in education and professional training of students of Pharmacy.
Annotation
this action is a functional link to the subject History and Organization of Pharmacy. It broadens knowledge and gives real features to the students´ imaginations about the historical development of pharmaceutical profession which is to be their future sphere of existence.
