Syllabus
The subject "Insurance law" encompasses following topics:
- general aspects of insurance law (the explanation of the terms: insurance, insurance sector, forms and types of insurance, legislation of insurance and insurance sector, including European Union law, the outline of historical development)
- performance of insurance and reinsurance
- supervision in the insurance sector
- insurance distribution
- insurance market in the Czech Republic, Czech Insurance Association
- insurance contract
- compulsory insurance
Annotation
The subject Insurance law deals with the legislation of insurance and insurance sector, namely with running insurance and reinsurance business and with insurance distribution. Students are also introduced to the insurance industry supervision, legislation of insurance contracts and different types of insurance including liability insurance for damage caused by operating a vehicle as well.
The classes follow students' knowledge acquired in other fields of law, mainly in civil law, commercial law, and European law with focus on European Union law.
