Legal English is a four-semester obligatory common foundations subject. Its aim is to introduce the students to the issues of the professional language, to introduce to them terminology of fundamental branches of law in individual language areas, to provide them with fundamental information about the given legal system and compare legal Czech with terms and expressions of foreign law. The basic method of teaching consists in working with all sorts of professional texts with the aim of activating the acquired legal language and being able to inform about fundamental aspects of Czech law in a foreign language.
Legal English I is completed with a graded course credit in the form of written test.
