The course provides general overview of the Czech media landscape and its developments after the regime change in 1989. It situates these developments within context of other Central European countries.
It introduces students to key works that analyze various aspects of post-1989 Czech media. The classes focus on political, economic, cultural and technological factors that shaped the Czech media system and reflects on these developments and on the current state of the system from a comparative perspective.
