Annotation

The aim of this course is to acquaint the students with the specific field of media studies, which tries to describe and explain the relationship between media contents and public or political discourse. First lectures focus on anchoring the agenda-setting theory in media studies, its overlaps into other disciplines (sociology, political communication, critical analysis, social constructivism) and consequences of agenda-setting theory in the context of mechanisms of political decision making, social dynamics and the forming of public discourse.
