Annotation
The aim of this course will be to acquaint the students with selected personalities that in particular phases of the development or areas of "thinking about media and society" had in an important way influenced development of this sicio-scientific field. In three thematic units students will through these personalities get acquainted with historical periods or fields of media studies.
The lectures will be framed with corresponding sociopolitical or socio-scientific context. 1) German tradition: Bücher, Benjamin, Habermas; 2) Anglo-Saxon tradition: Lippmann, McLuhan, Postman, Curran, Poster; 3) Czech tradition: Butter, Hudec, 90´s.
