Syllabus

1.     Introduction I ·       information about the course, requirements, basic principles of technical images, photo equipment, cameras, optics

2.     Introduction II ·       basic composition principles, light in photography

3.     Dark room I ·       information about a dark room, safety rules, principles of BW process, photograms

4.     Dark room II ·       negative process, BW film developing

5.     Dark room III ·       positive process, principles, photo enlarging

6.     Practical task I ·       photographing, analysis

7.     Darkroom IV ·       advanced methods in a dark room, masking, contact sheets, etc.

8.     Practical task  II - news ·       theoretical introduction, individual photographing and darkroom work, analysis

9.     Practical task III - portrait ·       theoretical introduction, individual photographing and darkroom work, analysis

10.   Practical task IV - news story ·       theoretical introduction, individual photographing and darkroom work, analysis Specific dates will be refined during the semester.

Annotation

The course aims to basic practical skills of photography acquisition with a focus on photography in the news. The students will learn basic techniques, technological principles, composition principles and approaches to the news photography subgenres. In the practical part, individual work is essential.
