Annotation

The course offers an introduction to politics at the local level in the EU countries (+ United Kingdom). It focuses on the importance of local self-government, its role in providing services, the development of institutions and models of local government, and municipal reforms.

After the introductory session, the classes dedicated to individual countries and the specifics of their municipal structure will follow.

Some sessions will be held by visiting professors Alistair Jones (De Montfort University Leicester), Daniel Klimovský (FiF UK Bratislava), Katarzina Radzik-Maruszak (UMCS Lublin), Andrew Ryder (Corvinus University Budapest), Diana-Camelia Iancu (Școala Națională de Studii Politice și Administrative Bucharest).

The class is taught in English.
