Annotation
Even both countries are very close, political system of Slovakia differs in some major aspects from the Czech political system. These differences are both institutional (directly elected president, governors and mayors, single chamber parliament, referendum) and social (strong Hungarian minority, strong church).
The goal of the course is to intriduce the political development of Slovakia since 19th century and political, constitutional, party and electoral systems - with special focus to the differences between Czech and Slovak systems.
