ZÁMĚR PŘEDMĚTU:
Estonsko a ostatní pobaltské státy měli dlouhou a obtížnou cestu do členství v EU a NATO. Kurs pobaltské bezpečnostní perspektivy na přelomu 21 století ukazuje klíčová východiska problémů bezpečnostní politiky v letech 1991 ?2007, jako například odchod sovětských vojsk, vztahy s USA, se severskými a pobaltskými státy.
PROGRAM PŘEDNÁŠEK:
? Úvodní přednáška
? Teoretické aspekty. Historické pozadí. Pobaltské státy mezi dvěma světovými válkami.
? Model ruského zájmu v Pobaltí - imperialismus, nacionalismus, národní identita, strategie ekonomického a vojenského zájmu ruský mluvicí menšiny.
? Ruská politika vůči pobaltským státům ? vývoj, socio-ekonomická politika a koncepce zahraniční politiky, vojenská politika a doktrína. Vztahy s Ruskou Federací.
? Prezentace vybraného tématu
? Pobaltská bezpečnost 1991- 2002, faktory ovlivňující pobaltskou bezpečnost,
? Problémy spojené s odhodem sovětských vojsk, vojenské instituce a síly pobaltských států.

Annotation
Course Objective:
The aim of the course is to give a comprehensive overview of Estonia and other Baltic States security policy from the beginning of the 1990´s up to the current moment.
Course Description:
Estonia and the other two Baltic states made a long journey from being an all-but forgotten Soviet occupied territory to becoming a member of the EU and NATO. The course will address the key issues of Baltic States security policy in 1991-2004 such as the withdrawal of the Soviet troops, negotiations and preparation for NATO accession, EU accession negotiations, relations with the United States, Nordic countries and between Baltic States.
