Syllabus
1. Review of statistical software, introduction to SPSS, menu SPSS. SPSS Windows. Data matrix, type of variables.
2. Open and save file. Data export and import (XLS, DBF). Output - types, changes, pivot tables. Syntax window.
3. Introduction to SPSS syntax, get file, save outfile. Sorting, selecting cases. ID variable. Select if, keep, drop.
4. 3 types of syntaxes in SPSS. Paste option. Syntax writing and usage of help. Managing new data (var lab, val lab, add val lab). Data dictionary (disp dict).
5. Transformation of varibles (Compute, recode, if, do if, sel if, fre). Weighting of data.
6. Logical control of data (des var), logical cleaning (mistakes, filtres). Handling with missing values and its definition.
Annotation
Course is focused on system SPSS. Syntax of Base module is included.
The course is prerequisity for other statisticla and data analysis courses.
