Annotation

The course explores anthropological approaches to society, culture, history, and current events. Lectures, readings and films explore social and cultural diversity through a range of turns in social sciences during last 50 year: language turn, material turn, feminist turn, ontological turn, turn to the body, and ethical turn.

Specific attention is focused on topics of ideology, religion, exchange, subsistence, gender, ethnicity, and local/global inter-relation.
