Annotation
The subject is a continuation of KBIB027 New Testament Epistles 1. It offers an introduction into Pauline epistles that are by a majority of scholars considered as the legacy of Paul composed by his disciples and continuators.
They include the Letter to the Colossians, and Ephesians, and so called Pastoral Epistles (1-2 Tim, Tit). Then follows an introduction into the Epistle to the Hebrews, an early Christian homily, which is in Christian tradition related to the letters of St.
Paul. Then follows a presentation of the Catholic Epistles, namely the Epistle of James, the Epistle of Jude, and two Epistles of Peter (three Epistles of John are treated in the course on Johannine literature).
Students will be introduced into literary, rhetorical, theological, and spiritual aspects of each of the epistles and led into reading and exegesis of selected texts.
