Annotation
The lectures discover changing attitudes to older Czech literature during the 19th and especially in the 20th century. Emphasis is placed on issues associated with different periodization of Czech literary history and the most important, in many ways pioneering studies and their authors (John Vilikovský, Josef Vašica, Zdenek Kalista etc.).
An important part of the course is the practical part - shared reading of early modern manuscripts.
