Annotation
In the footsteps of the art of the time of Rudolph II. This year, the seminar will focus on the art and architecture of the period of Rudolph II. At the beginning of the semester, each student selects one of the recommended topics, which he presents directly in front of the given architectural monument or work of art. The topics are chosen with regard to the possibility of an excursion with a seminar, i.e. the monuments of Prague, some of which are not normally accessible (the issue of the possibility of entry is currently under discussion). Suggested topics:
1. Stromovka and the importance of gardens in the time of Rudolph II.
2. Rudolf's Tunnel with a pond in Stromovka
3. The Imperial Mill in the Royal Park Stromovka, gate, grotto, overall location and function Prague Castle
4. Prague Castle under Rudolf II. – overall layout, decoration, springs
5. The New and Spanish halls, their architecture and decoration - excursion to the Prague Castle Picture Gallery
6. Collections of Rudolph II. – excursion to the Picture Gallery of the Prague Castle
7. The White Tower and a painting by Bartholomeus Spranger
8. Old burgrave - decoration Lesser Town
