Annotation
The subject acquaints with the basic Christian spirituality, which originated in the space of four Eastern Christian patriarchal traditions: Alexandria, Antioch, Jerusalem and Constantinople. The student is first introduced to the theoretical basis on which the Eastern Christian spirituality is built.
Subsequently, its specific manifestations in history are described. Through the prominent personalities of Christianity and the history of the patriarchal and autocepal Orthodox churches, the specifics of their spirituality will be presented.
In addition, special attention will be paid to the history of Russian Orthodox spirituality and the thinking of Russian Orthodox intellectuals in the context of the development of European thought.
