Annotation
The course presents the basic ideas concerning Catholic eschatology in a historical and theoretical perspective. Its key background is the goal of creation in God’s plan of salvation, which is possible only because Jesus Christ, ho protos and ho eschatos, reveals the Triune God. The aim of history is the unity of God and his creation in Jesus Christ. That is why the church in heaven is the final form of creation. Because of that, created beings have to dispose of everything standing against God and grow into the resemblance with Christ. The second alternative is a self-expulsion from God’s presence: hell.
The lecturer provides consultations in Italian and French.
