Sikh ethic. Worship and rituals.

Sikh rulers. Defence by force.

Sikh military abilities. Colonial context.

Sikhs and modern times. Sikh art.

Sikh in diaspora.

Anotace

These lectures deal with the youngest of so called big religions. It is an amazing system trying to harmonise

Hinduism and Islam. We will follow the way how originally meditative tradition of Guru Nanak and his followers developed into Chalsa. We will deal with the basic principles: 1.langar (common meal in the Gurdwara, prepared by men and women together, 2.seva (volunteering service) and 3.sanga (the comunity). There are many things which can be inspiring for modern people.
