áíčíářáéářčáář1. Study of physiology, historical survey of the field, experimental methods for exploring physiology. Physical and chemical principles of physiological functions. Body fluids, homeostasis.
2. Molecules, energy and biosynthesis. Membranes, ion channels, transport, receptors, G-proteins, signal cascades, and messengers.
3. Excitable tissues - nerve and muscle. The physical basis of neuronal function, resting and action potentials, cable properties, and impulse propagation. Synapses.
4. Neuroglial cells. Cell types and their function in the central and peripheral nervous system.
5. Central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems. Anatomy and function of brain, spinal cord, peripheral nerves. Reflexes, learning, memory and regeneration.
6. Physiology of senses, receptors, afferent nerve pathways, sensory mapping, sensory modalities.
7. Skeletal and smooth muscles. Mechanics and energetics of muscle contraction, control of motorics.
8. Blood, blood cells, tissue respiration, immunity.
9. Heart and blood vessels, lungs and respiration. Transport and exchange of gases. Acid-base balance.
10. Epithels. Kidney and excretion. Ion and water exchange, osmoregulation.
11. Digestion. Food intake, chemical digestion, absorption and metabolism of nutritiens. Gastrointestinal secretion.
12. Hormones. Endocrine system, control of humoral secretion, physiological action of hormones.
13. Physiology of reproduction. Gonades, development and function of reproductive system, humoral regulation.
14. Organism and its environment. The effects of environmental factors on physiological functions, adaptation, acclimatization
