Annotation
Students will be taught how to handle the most basic software they can use for writing their diploma thesis and for presentation of data at seminars. The course is both, a lecture and a practical training of students on computers. At first, essential hardware computer components are shown and their used is discussed. Then, students will learn to use selected software, e.g. OS, file manager, compression software, anti-virus programs, graph processors and chemical formula software. In addition, scanner, digital camera and data projector will be introduced and the software for OCR, picture editing, electrophoresis evaluation, and curve digitalization will be shown. At the end, students are going to train the software for preparation of posters and slide show presentations. As a literature, operation manuals are recommended. During the practical exams, students should prove their abilities to use programs for solving specific tasks.
