Enzymes - structure of enzyme molecule, enzyme properties, kinetics of enzyme reaction, regulatory enzymes. Basic biochemical methodology: arrangement of the work in biochemical laboratories, organization of chemical literature, evaluation of results.

Isolation and purification of biomolecules, seperation methods, electromigration. Laboratory animals.

Immmunochemical methods, microscopy.

Annotation

The course is intended for students of "Clinical and toxicological analysis", it is the first half of a two-semester course.

Introduction, basic terms and principles of biochemistry. Biomolecules (proteins, saccharides, lipids and nucleic acids) - their structure and biochemical properties. Enzymes - properties, structure, coenzymes and cofactors. Bioenergetics - thermodynamic principles, macroergic compounds.

Basic methodology of biochemistry (isolation and purification of biomolecules, laboratory animals, immunochemical methods, microscopy

Lectures - in Czech (English possible).
