Course on principles of polymer science: history, basic terms and definitions, covalent structure, nomenclature of homo- and copolymers, configurational structure, conformational structure, supramolecular structure, phase transitions in polymers, distribution of molecular weights, MW averages, polydispersity, classification of polymerizations, thermodynamics of polymerizations, relations between the structure and polymerizability of monomers, chain polymerizations (radical, anionic, cationic, coordination - insertion, metathesis, group-transfer polymerization), enzyme-catalyzed polymerizations, non-chain polymerizations (polyesters, polyamides, polyimides, polyurethanes, epoxides, polysulfones, formaldehyde resins), three-dimensional polymerization, polymers with inorganic main chains, chemical transformations of polymers - polymer-analogic reactions, crosslinking, vulcanization, degradation, corrosion, polymer solutions, methods of the molecular weight determination, basic mechanical proper-ties of polymers, viscoelasticity.

Course on Principles of Polymer Science and Technology for students of all branches of Chemistry, in which classification, terminology, nomenclature, synthesis, characterization, reactivity, structure-to-properties relations and practical applications of polymers are discussed.
