Sylabus of Lectures: General terms, Structure and properties - gases. The first law (internal energy, enthalpy, heat capacity) + Thermochemistry (enthalpies of physical and chemical changes, Kirchhoff´s law).
The second law (entropy, the Gibbs and Helmholtz energies, the statistical entropy). Quantities for description of mixtures (partial molar quantities, chemical potential, activity).
Phase equilibria (Gibbs phase rule, Clapeyron and Clausius-Clapeyron equation, Henry's law, Raoult's law, colligative properties, partition equilibrium). Chemical equilibrium (degree of conversion, extent of reaction, the reaction Gibbs energy, equilibrium constant, the van't Hoff equations, equilibrium composition).
Electrochemistry - Strong electrolytes (activity coefficient, the solubility product. Electrochemistry - Weak electrolytes (acid-base equilibria, buffers, acid-base titration and indicators, ampholytes).
Electrochemistry - Transport of ions in electric field (conductivity, mobility). Electrochemistry - Galvanic cells and electrodes (Nernst equation, varieties of electrodes, potentiometry).
Polarisation of electrodes and polarography. Chemical kinetics - Rate law of elementary and simultaneous (parallel, opposite, consecutive) reactions.
Rate of reaction theories (Arrhenius theory). Base of catalysis .
Basic course of General and Physical chemistry focused on base of thermodynamics, electrochemistry and chemical kinetics. Lectures are accompanied by exercises.
