The course deals with the chemistry of nitrogen-metabolites
- the alkaloids are divided on the basis of the biogenesis;
- each group includes typical representative members, their structure, chemical transformations, biosynthesis, biological effects, ...
- synthesis, especially total synthesis is the principal topic to be discussed within each group;
- biomimetic approaches, if existing, are discussed preferentially
