12. Drugs of sense organs. The basic and often used pharmaceutically active compounds and their use in different therapeutical applications are discussed. The drug characteristics are based on the mechanism of action in contrast to the chemical structures and the disease principles. The classification according to chemical structures and drug formulations are also included.

Annotation

The course is focussed to the therapeutic and diagnostic applications of chemical substances - pharmaceuticals. It is based on the anatomical-therapeutical-chemical classification system (ATCC) and gives basic informations about the use of chemical substances in human medicine.

The application formulations and pharmaceutical databases are also discussed. The aim of the course is not only the demonstration of pharmaceutically active compounds, but also the discussion of their application in connection with mechanisms of action.
