Annotation

Our planet Earth has gone through a series of dramatic changes over the past 4.5 billions of years, which shaped its present-day surface, oceans, and biosphere. With the aid of quantitative analytical methods, modern Geology explores these changes, attempts to explain their causes, and provides a more detailed information of physical and chemical processes in the Earth´s interior.

The goal of this class is to discuss some of the hottest topics of modern Geology and to integrate them into a synthetic picture at a larger scale. The class is suitable for motivated students with a deep interest in the geological processes.
