1. Introduction - basics of Plate Tectonics

2. Triassic - desintegration of Pangea, eustatic cycles and climatic changes.

3. Jurassic - the origin of North Atlantic, Cimmerian movement, Mediterranean movement, eustatic cycles and climatic changes.

4. Cretaceous - origin of southern Atlantic, Cimmerian movement, Mediterranean movement, eustatic cycles and climatic changes.

5. Paleogene - Alpian-Carpathian orogeny, Tethyan Realm, eustatic cycles and climatic changes.

6. Neogene - Alpian-Carpathian orogeny, Tethyan Realm, Paratethys, eustatic cycles and climatic changes.

7. Quarternary - glaciation, climatic changes. Dependencies: Course is following Course is following the Historic and Stratigraphic Geology G421P04G. Aim: The aim is to inform student about geological processes from the Permian/Triassic boundary untill Present. It shows kontinent movement, eustatic cycles and the climatic changes in Mesozoic and Cenozoic. Course schedule: 12 2-hour lectures Requirements: Examination, short essay

Annotation

The course informs student about geological processes from the age of Pangea II desintegration untill Present. It dwells on the Plate tectonics, global sea level changes and the climatic changes in Mesozoic and Cenozoic.
