Anamnia (T.P?ikryl)

Origin and evolution of the early Cambrian chordates. Conodonts from the vertebrate paleontology poin of view.

Evolution and systematic of the Agnatha during Early Paleozoic. Modern forms of Agnatha (lampreys and hagfish): their fossil representatives and relations to other Agnatha.

Origin of the Gnathostomata and their radiation during Silurian and Devonian (Placodermi, Acanthoda, Chondrichthyes a Osteichthyes).

Evolution of "fish-like" vertebrates from Upper Paleozoic to present and their morphological trends.

Changes in anatomy essential for transition to land and origin of the Amphibia. Characterization of the oldest Amphibia and consequential diversification during Carboniferous. Origin and evolution of the Lissamphibia during Trissic and their diversification.

Amniota (M.Mazuch)

Origin, evolution and radiation of Amniota from upper paleozoic to present day. Development main groups of the Amniota: Anapsida, Diapsida and Synapsida.

Origin an evolution of the Amniota;evolution of Anapsids and Diapsids (except Archosauromorphs); problematic taxonomic rank of the Chelonia.

Evolution of Diapsids: Archosauromorpha

Origin and evolution of the Synapsids from carboniferous to mesozoic.

Evolution and systematics of the Eutheria from mesozoic to cenozoic.

Annotation

The goal of this course is to gain a deeper knowledge on the evolution and taxonomy of fossil Vertebrates.
