Syllabus

The creation of the universe, planets and life, astrobiology perspective on the beginning of life on other planets, the basic principles of evolution, evolution at different levels (from DNA alleles through gene and cell to the level of the population), speciation (microevolution) and higher taxonomic units (macroevolution ), causes of extinction, and extinction of Earth's in future.

Annotation

The course takes place in two blocks. The first block focuses on the creation of the universe, planets, life and the abiotic factors influencing the life.

In addition, the course deal with the conditions of life in general, not just on Earth, and on the theoretical possibility of extra-terrestrial life. The second part deals with various theories of evolution of life and focuses on the explanation of evolution and natural selection in the cell and population.
