Introduction and principles of prospection methods and geochemical fieldwork.
Methods of sampling of stream sediments, identification of (heavy) minerals.
Methods of sampling of natural surface waters, basic chemical analysis of waters.
Methods of sampling soils, preparation of soil samples for further analyses.
Radiometric prospection/analysis, sampling, main field methods.
Introduction to modern field analytical methods - waters, soils, rocks.
Field laboratory analyses, analyses using miniaturized instrumentation (pXRF, pRS)
Collection, preparation, analysis of acquired data, and subsequent composition of the project report including multipurpose geochemical maps.
The goal of the course:
Acquisition of knowledge of specialized geochemical mapping based on the soil, surface water, and river sediment sampling. Learning of practical skills such as sampling, field and laboratory measurements of basic and special parameters of sampled natural resources, interpretation of data, and preparing a basic geochemical report.

Anotace
A practical field course focused on applying traditional and modern geochemical methods for geochemical mapping and prospecting (rocks, soils, sediments) and monitoring the state of different compartments of the environment (soils, surface waters).
Previous attendance of basic Geochemistry course (MG431P01) for Czech students or Environmental Geochemistry course (MG431P07E) for Erasmus students is required for possible enrolment in the Geochemical field course.
The costs of the course including accommodation are covered by the IGMMR (ÚGMNZ). Students pay for their own meals and their own transport to the meeting place.
