Field practice will make students familiar with basic methods of soil ecosystem research: determination of soil horizons and humus types, measurements of physico-chemical conditions (pH, soil water, soil air), determination of dry matter, determination of organic matter by loss on ignition, soil basal respiration by titration, determination of total phosphorus according to Melich III, determination of soil fungi abundance using ergosterol, determination of soil fauna.
